History of Friends' School "Saffron Walden School - A Sketch of Two Hundred Years" by James Backhouse Crosfield. Originally founded in 1702 in Clerkenwell, with subsequent moves to Islington Road and then to Croydon, Friends' School moved to Saffron Walden in 1879.
